Mid to high quality furniture edges normally use 2mm PVC edge banding for the rounded profile, it gives a solid-wood look and is compatible with standard automatic edge banding machines. We use virgin impact modified pvc to make our 2mm edge banding with tight dimensional tolerance, good color matching and clean edge cutting performance on dark colors.
Our 2mm pvc edge banding fits on all of the major edge banding machine brands and is ideal for cabinet doors, office desks, kitchen cabinetry, hotel furniture and retail display fixtures. In solid colours, wood grains and custom colour matched formulations, in widths from 18 mm to 65 mm standard and custom up to 100 mm.

Tight Thickness Tolerance for Consistent Glue Lines
Our 2mm pvc edge banding has an edge band thickness tolerance of ±0.05mm at 5 points across the edge band’s width during production. Uniform thickness helps to apply glue in a consistent film, minimizing the visible glues lines and avoiding glue skips or delamination from thin spots. The generic edge banding usually is not consistent, being within a tolerance of ±0.15 mm or more, which causes inconsistent bonding and increased rejections.
Impact-Modified Formulation for Clean Trimming
The PVC compound is made from impact modifiers and processing aids to ensure flexibility of the material in radius trimming. This eliminates corner whitening on dark colours (black, dark brown, dark wood grains) which is a usual defect of normal PVC edge banding. The trimmed radius ensures the same color from face to edge to back.
UV-Stabilized Pigments for Long-Term Color Stability
The pigments used are UV-stabilized and will not fade or yellow when exposed to extended periods of showroom lighting, daylight or near window exposure. Edge banding is rated lightfastness 5-6 on the blue wool scale, which guarantees color matching with the board throughout the product’s life.
Virgin PVC Resin
Made from virgin pvc resin and not from recycled materials, so that the resin melts the same way during edge banding, cutter performance is clean without the pitting and grain that can occur in recycled pvc, and the surface is smooth, not rough as with recycled pvc. Compliant to REACH and RoHS requirements (Lead-free stabiliser system).
Controlled Surface Energy for Reliable Bonding
The surface energy is controlled in the production process to give an even wet-out when using both EVA hot melt and PUR reactive adhesives, irrespective of substrate type (MDF, particleboard, plywood). Uniform bonding helps to minimize corner lift and field delamination.

Pre-milling is essential for 2mm pvc edge banding to remove saw marks and create a flat bonding surface. Glue pot temperature should be verified with a calibrated thermometer, as machine displays can drift by ±8°C. Panel temperature should be above 18°C to prevent premature adhesive setting.

Color matching process:
